Access Air Flight Attendant Wing

Des Moines, IA 1998-2001

Access Air provided service to cities such as Los Angeles and New York City from its hub in Des Moines. Access was a point-to-point carrier, meaning flights did not always start or stop in its hub city of Des Moines. It planned to start operations in January 1998 but because of delays, did not operate its first flight until February 3, 1999. On November 29, 1999 the airline filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy due to low passenger loads and lack of adequate funding. It continued to fly charter service. There was new management at this time and they changed the name of the airline to LowAir. Again the airline found few customers and on February 27, 2001 the airline was liquidated.
